Charlie Arnot is a recognized thought leader in food and agriculture and CEO of The Center for Food Integrity. Charlie Arnot is highly regarded as both a writer and sought-after speaker who engages audiences across the globe. Charlie has more than 25 years of experience working in communications, public relations and issues management within the food system.  He serves as

CEO of The Center for Food Integrity, a non-profit organization dedicated to building consumer trust and confidence in today’s food system.

Charlie spent ten years as a corporate officer for a leading food company. He also worked for a public relations agency, was an award-winning radio journalist and worked in video and film. Charlie grew up in southeast Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Journalism degree.

The Mid-Atlantic Fruit and Vegetable Convention has become the premier grower meeting in the Northeast combining three days of six or more concurrent educational sessions with a large industry trade show and numerous networking opportunities - all designed to enable fruit, vegetable and berry growers as well as direct marketers to stay on the cutting edge of their industries. About 2,200 persons from throughout the mid-Atlantic region and beyond gather each year at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center for the Convention.  Registration is open to all interested commercial fruit, vegetable and berry growers, direct marketers and allied industry personnel.

Educational Program
Many pesticide applicator update training credits are available to growers attending the sessions. The program covers nearly every aspect of fruit, vegetable, potato, strawberry, bramble, cut flower, greenhouse and wine grape production. Commercial growers should not pass up this terrific educational opportunity. The educational program for the 2018 Convention is posted here. Six or more concurrent educational sessions will be offered on all three days of the Convention.

Pre-Convention Workshops and Tour
The day before the main Convention opens, growers can choose between a fruit and vegetable industry bus tour and several different pre-convention workshops that are described here.  fruit and vegetable industry bus tour will visit a farm market, a fruit packing operation and other industry related businesses and provide an opportunity to network with fellow growers.  The workshops offer a full- or half-day of focused instruction in a given area of interest.

strawberries The annual Mid-Atlantic Cider Contest is conducted during the Convention to determine the best cider in the region.
